Disinformation Immunity Summit

IMMUNE 2 INFODEMIC FINAL EVENT

Date & Time

06 May 2026 | 09:00–13:00 CET | Brussels

Europe is facing an infodemic in which dis- and misinformation put pressure on the quality of public debate and undermine democratic participation and engagement. The IMMUNE 2 INFODEMIC project addresses this challenge by developing a preventive approach that immunises citizens against manipulation.  Since its launch in 2022, the project – led by Beyond the Horizon ISSG (Belgium) in partnership with FaktaBaari (Finland), Dare to be Grey (Netherlands), and Januam (Germany) – has engaged more than 2,800 learners directly and reached over 180,000 people indirectly through public events and digital outreach across five EU member states.

Our training focuses on three core skills (vaccines) – digital literacy, media literacy, and critical thinking – complemented by six themes (boosters): elections, health, migration, climate, FIMI (Foreign information manipulation and interference), and AI. Each module combines engaging multimedia content, real-life examples, and practical exercises, enabling learners to identify, analyse, and counter false narratives. The e-learning is freely accessible, and the materials are currently available in English, Dutch, German and French.   (the three new modules are currently only available in English).
