IMMUNE 2 INFODEMIC Webinar Series
Disinformation on Climate Change
Date & Time
20 May 2026 | 15:00–16:00 CET | Online
Climate change is not only a scientific and political challenge — it is also an information battleground. Disinformation campaigns are actively working to delay climate action by spreading denial, doubt, and distraction. This webinar explores how climate disinformation operates and what individuals and institutions can do to counter it.
The third and final session of the IMMUNE 2 INFODEMIC 2 Webinar Series takes on one of the most consequential disinformation domains of our era: the deliberate undermining of climate science and efforts to slow down climate action.
Climate disinformation is not a new phenomenon, but it is evolving. From outright denial of scientific consensus to more subtle forms of delay, distraction, and false solutions, today’s climate-related manipulation is sophisticated and well-funded. In this session, you will explore the history and current landscape of climate disinformation, understand who benefits from it, and learn how it spreads through social media, mainstream media, and political discourse.
Drawing on real-world case studies and current research, our speakers will help you develop the critical skills needed to navigate complex climate communication — and will introduce the free e-learning modules from the IMMUNE 2 INFODEMIC 2 project that can help you and your communities become more resilient.
