EU in a nutshell
Digital media mentoring for youth
EU101
SUMMARY
“EU in a Nutshell,” is a digital media mentoring initiative designed for young adults with migration backgrounds in Germany and Belgium, as well as members of host societies. It combines skill-building and practical engagement to foster active participation, intercultural understanding, and inclusion.
Participants will develop critical thinking and media literacy skills, learning to recognize and counter misinformation while promoting healthy social media use. They will apply these skills through hands-on activities such as creating blogs, podcasts, and videos, as well as visits to EU Institutions in Brussels and regional media institutions in Germany and Belgium. These experiences will deepen their understanding of democratic processes and European governance.
By incorporating tailored mentoring, expert-led workshops, and collaborative learning, the project empowers young people to actively engage in civic discourse, reinforces democratic values, and supports the integration of newcomers into Europe. It encourages intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and collaboration, inspiring participants to become active contributors to democratic societies.
